Masterson’s Pub , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my recent visit at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I experienced behind its threshold was disturbing and far below any standard .
The State of the Venue : Squalid and Neglected
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that hygiene was not a priority at this venue. The surfaces were tacky , and a nauseating aroma of decaying beverages and neglected washrooms suffused the entire bar . Smelling a mixture of urine , putrefaction and a sickly smell. The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The bathroom was in even more deplorable shape — clogged , with a broken handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was human excrement .

Based on the experiences shared online and talking to people around , it seems that the standard of sanitation (or lack thereof) at this pub is a long-standing issue . During my time there, I became aware of how uneasy several female patrons seemed around Cornwell. As I looked into it more , I was stunned to find accusations against him involving inappropriate advances, with multiple women alleging that he of harassing them digitally.
